Terms of the competition


1.  The tournament is being held on "goulash" deals, prepared on the basis of a special algorithm. Usually apportionments are very abrupt so there are following recommendations: to modernize a trade system and not to rely too much on "theoretical" probabilities of distribution during draw (whist).

2.  16 teams will take part in the play for the Cup, at least two of them will get that right according to the results of the selection tournament.

3.  Play for the Cup will be held in three laps:

  • The 1st lap:  (Thursday, 11th November 2010, 7 p.m.) the participants have to divide on 4 groups every group - 4 teams (a casual sortition with possible "sowing" of some teams is under the discretion of the organizers) and play matches in 2 circles in 4 goulash deals (total 24 deals). VP calculation is according to the table below (Goulash Patton). In case of VP sums equality, a team which has more IMPs is being put above.

  • The 2nd lap:  (Friday, 12th November, 2010, 11 p.m.) the participants divide on 2 groups every group 8 teams: "A" group'll consist of the teams, which won 1st and 2nd places in the 1st lap; the rest is "B" group. VP calculation and separation in case of equality is the same like for the 1st lap. The first five teams from "A" group and the first two teams from "B" group get in play-off at once. And one more "ticket" to play-off will be determined in joint match between the 6th place of "A" and the 3rd place of "B" (6 deals).

  • The 3rd lap  (play-off): The 3rd lap (play-off): In the quarter-final the teams, which took 1-3 places in "A" group, chose by turns their rivals from the rest of the teams. In semi-final team, which has taken the height place in "A" group, choose a rival among 4 rest participants. All play-off matches consist of 20 deals( and 30 deals in Final), with changing of seats and intervening calculation after five deals. In case of drawgame rivals have to play mini-matches of 6 deals without balance until one of them'll win. The quarter-finals and semi-finals will be held on Saturday, 13th November, 2010, the final will be held on Sunday, 14 November, 2010 (at 11-30 p.m.).
  • Swiss system:  teams, which were not able to get in play-off and lost in quarter-final matches, play 11 rounds of 6 deals (Saturday 14th November, 2010, 11 p.m.). In the last round -Italian. In case of equality of VP sums, a team, which has more IMPs is to be above.

4.  The total prize fund of the tournament NN-Cup-10 (Goulash by Gladysh) is equal to $10 000, including results of the Cup:

  • 1st place - $ 5 000 and Challenge Cup;
  • 2nd place - $ 2 200
  • 3rd place - $ 1 200
  • 1st place for Swiss - $ 1 000
  • Special prize:      for the best deal - $ 200
         "secret" - $ 200
